New Acting Workshop In Philadelphia
Maggie Flanigan Studio Announces New Acting Workshop In Philadelphia
Maggie Flanigan Studio, based in New York, NY, has announced that they will be holding a professional acting workshop in Philadelphia on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 12pm until 4pm. The event will be held at the Whole Shebang, 1813 South 11th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148. Those interested should call (215) 600-1669 to register for the workshop. The cost to register for the one day workshop is $25.
Charlie Sandlan, Executive Director and Head of Acting at the Maggie Flanigan Studio, says: “I believe that it’s possible to learn something of substance in only six weeks. I believe it’s possible to find a program that will surround you with other serious actors. So it’s important to know what you want, and what questions to ask so that you don’t end up as just a number among hundreds of students. If that happens, you will have wasted your money, and come away with nothing of value.”
The course is strongly designed for those who know that they want to become actors and have done all the right things, such as taking up acting classes in school, but who now seem to not be able to take their career to the next level. The workshop will discuss the fundamental skills that all actors require, while at the same time focusing on work ethics and improving skills at all times, all based on the Meisner Technique.
“Our enrollment is small and applicants are hand-selected for the Meisner Summer Intensive,” adds Charlie Sandlan. “The result is quality, personalized instruction that can help actors reconnect with their craft. Actors at the beginning of their careers can also benefit from the program by enriching their vocabulary and spending time with experienced peers.”
The workshop will focus on the teachings of Sanford Meisner, who was a Group Theater member during the 1930s. His techniques are known to be the best. His teachings were about making acting a true human behavior, rather than an act.
As an acting studio in Philadelphia, Maggie Flanigan Studio is highly popular and respected by students and industry experts alike for developing actors of professional caliber. Charlie Sandlan says, “Our acting program has one goal and that is to produce a complete artist. We strive to empower all students to become actors who possess the skill, craft and education necessary to work well into their 40s, 50s and 60s.”
